Endless Japan ME20/CC40 Performance Race Brake Pads
Main Details
- Compound:
- ME20 / CC40
- Type:
- Semi-metallic race compound
- Temp Range:
- Around 150°C–800°C
- Friction Rating:
- Around 0.35–0.40μ
What Makes ME20 Different
Compared to ME22:
- More aggressive initial bite
- Higher friction level
- Slightly more “on/off” feel
- Better for harder braking styles
- Handles very high temps extremely well
ME22 became popular because it softened the characteristics slightly and improved modulation for more drivers. But many experienced drivers still prefer ME20 because it bites HARD.
Best For
- Fast trackday drivers
- Time attack
- Sprint racing
- Rally
- Heavy braking tracks
- Drivers who trail brake aggressively
Real-World Feel
ME20 is known for:
- Massive confidence under heavy braking
- Strong pedal feel
- Very stable at high rotor temps
- Lets you brake VERY late
- Excellent consistency lap after lap
A lot of BTCC/Super Touring development originally influenced this pad.
Downsides
Because it’s aggressive:
- More brake dust
- More noise/squeal
- Can feel grabby cold
- Slightly harsher on rotors than ME22
- Overkill for casual street use
Honda Trackday Use
For:
- FD2 Type R
- FK8
- FL5
It’s honestly one of the “proper” pads once you start pushing hard enough to cook OEM or MX72 setups.
At Hampton Downs:
- Works VERY well into Turn 1
- Excellent repeated braking performance
- Great with semi slicks/slicks
- Especially good if you’re carrying speed and braking deep
ME20 vs ME22 Quick Feel
