ABOUT US
JTune / Seat Time NZ / 3ND / TypeR Trackday
JTune is more than just a workshop.
Over the years, we have combined performance tuning, motorsport, media, clothing, and lifestyle into one complete automotive culture brand.
From building street cars to race cars, creating content around the world, organising trackdays, and developing our own clothing label — everything we do is built around passion for cars and real driving experience.
We are not just a workshop carrying out normal servicing and parts fitting.
We travel around the world working with workshops, brands, and enthusiasts to help build dream cars, source special vehicles, and share automotive culture through our own experiences.
Built from years in the industry — and being lifelong enthusiasts ourselves — JTune has become a platform that connects workshop, lifestyle, media, and community together.
JTune Automotive
JTune Automotive, also known as JTune NZ, is a New Zealand-based performance workshop specialising in JDM performance cars, motorsport setup, and Honda tuning.
Founded in Auckland in 2009 by Jacky Tse, JTune started from a passion for Honda performance and has grown into one of New Zealand’s recognised names within the Japanese performance car scene.
Our philosophy is simple:
“Seat Time • Not Show Time”
We believe a properly built car should not only look good, but also perform reliably on the street, track, and circuit.
From daily-driven Hondas to dedicated race and time attack cars, JTune focuses on building cars properly using real-world experience gained from years of testing across:
- New Zealand
- Japan
- Hong Kong
- The Philippines
JTune specialises in:
- Honda performance tuning
- K-Series engine conversions
- Dyno tuning and ECU calibration
- Track and race car setup
- Suspension, brake, and handling upgrades
- Custom fabrication and motorsport support
- JDM aftermarket parts supply and technical support
Over the years, JTune has collaborated with some of the biggest names in JDM culture, including experiences and partnerships with companies such as HKS, while continuing to support and grow New Zealand’s Honda and Type R community through events, workshops, and trackdays.
Today, JTune is more than just a workshop — it is a community built around passion, knowledge, and chasing the dream.
“Build it once. Build it right.”
Seat Time NZ
Seat Time NZ is the media and community side of JTune Automotive.
What started as a simple YouTube channel documenting builds, trackdays, and behind-the-scenes moments has grown into a platform followed by enthusiasts from New Zealand and around the world.
From local Honda trackdays at Hampton Downs Motorsport Park to tuning shops in Japan, Hong Kong, and the Philippines, Seat Time NZ shares the people, stories, and experiences behind real car culture.
The name “Seat Time” comes from a simple belief:
The best way to improve is by driving.
Rather than chasing social media trends or dyno numbers alone, Seat Time NZ focuses on:
- Real driving experience
- Driver development
- Motorsport lifestyle
- Automotive education
- Building cars that actually perform
Whether it is your first trackday or you are chasing lap records, the goal stays the same:
Get more seat time.
Seat Time NZ content includes:
- JDM car culture
- Honda and Type R trackday coverage
- Workshop builds and technical projects
- Track testing and driver feedback
- International tuning shop features

- Educational automotive content
Today, Seat Time NZ has become a growing community of drivers, builders, photographers, and enthusiasts who share the same passion for cars and motorsport.
“Seat Time • Not Show Time”
